Friday, January 12th

Ugly Blazers night – Victoria Royals vs Kamloops Blazers

  • What: Join the Royals for Ugly Blazer night – a night where we squash the confidence of our opponents by mocking them with ugly blazers. The trade deadline has come and gone, and the Royals were superbly busy. Check out the new additions as the playoffs slowly approach!

Open Face Beholding

  • What: One-part living art exhibition, one-part theatre performance, open face beholding is an exploration of the relationship between art, ritual, and belief through the lens of Catholic iconography. Creator Delaney Tesch seeks out the liminal space between sacred and profane – a space which inspires both faith and creativity – and brings it to life in this immersive new performance piece.

American Favourites Plant-based & Vegan Cooking Class

  • What: Curious about how to adjust your current diet to incorporate more vegetables? Recently Vegan and striving to live a healthier more compassionate life? Just want to eat some plain old delicious food, have a few laughs, and make a new pal? This class is for you!
  • Where: Phillippine Bayanihan Community Centre, 1709 Blanshard St.
  • When: 5pm – 8pm.
  • Cost: $80

Art Battle

  • What: Art Battle® is live competitive painting. Painters create the best work they can in 20 minutes. As they work, patrons move around the easels, closely watching the creative process. The medium is acrylic paint and the tools allowed are brushes, palette knives or any non-mechanical implements. At the end of the round, the audience votes democratically for their favourite painting and can bid in a silent auction to take the work home.

  • When: 7pm – 11pm.
  • Cost: $20 for adults, $15 for students/seniors.

Peninsula Panthers vs Westshore Wolves

  • What: Don’t miss this South Division battle! 36 games through the season sees the Panthers and Wolves separated by just two points – the Panthers with 31 and the Wolves with 34. A valuable two points are on the line!
  • Where: Panorama Recreation Centre, 1885 Forest Park Dr.
  • When: Puck drop is 7:30pm.

Saturday, January 13th

Help add to Saanich’s Canada 150 Time Capsule

  • What: To celebrate Canada 150, Saanich is making a time capsule that will stay sealed until Canada’s 200th anniversary in 2067. A special postcard has been designed for the public to contribute their comments for the opening at Canada’s 200th birthday in 2067. Visitors to the show are welcome to take selfies and post comments on social media. Please invite friends and family to view the show and to take part in the upcoming Time Capsule introduction.
  • Where: Arts Center at Cedar Hill Rec, 3220 Cedar Hill Rd.
  • When: 10am – 1pm.

Pumpkin Pie Overnight Oats Cooking Demonstration

  • What: Each week the Public Market offers free cooking demonstrations. On the menu, this week is pumpkin pie overnight oats!

  • Cost: Free

Snowed In Comedy Tour

  • What: The Snowed In Comedy Tour has turned into a Canadian success story. It has now grown to become one of the largest comedy tours in Canada. Four international comedians come together to create one amazing show with each bringing a unique and hilarious take providing something for everyone. Just for Laughs winner Dan Quinn is back along with the wild man MC Craig Campbell.

Sunday, January 14th

Renew, Reset, Recharge

  • What:  Playing crowd favourites, new material and even a few surprises, an evening with folk icon Valdy will entertain those both young and young at heart.
