There’s a pet food drive happening right now in memory the beloved downtown greeting dog

Share

Every dark cloud has a silver lining – and sometimes, you have to create your own.

That’s what Charmaine – owner of Fort Street antique furniture store Charmaine’s Past and Present Home Collections – is doing, after her beloved dog Cody passed away in October, 2017.

The store is hosting a pet food donation drive from January 5th to 16th, encouraging people to drop off their non-perishable, packaged pet food at the store during regular business hours.

Everyone loved Cody

After 14 years of greeting people at his human’s store, Cody had become a beloved member of the downtown Victoria community.

He spent his life dutifully giving licks and receiving pats from Victorians who visited Charmaine’s furniture and housewares store on Fort Street.

He was truly a loyal business-doggy and his death came as a blow to everyone who had ever met him.

Help honour his memory

Forever a sweet-natured, gentle dog, Cody would have loved his owner’s initiative to make sure no dog in Victoria goes hungry.

All donations go to the Victoria Pet Food Bank “Boneless Project”, and will benefit pet owners in two emergency shelters, two transition homes, and over 30 low income, elderly, and disabled families – because every pet deserves a loving home, and the chance to go to sleep with a full belly every night.

So bring your packaged pet food over to Charmaine’s at 1083 Fort Street to donate!
