Share

Get ready for the first annual Irish Whiskey Hooley taking place at the Yates Street Taphouse on March 11th, where you’ll have the opportunity to sample over 40 Irish Whiskeys!

Tickets are advance only, and include a dram of all 40 Whiskeys on hand, a wonderful logo’d tasting glass, and a Whiskey Passport to take notes of your whiskey-induced travels.

They’re even offering a “Whiskey school”, and a “Whiskey diploma” upon graduation!

The money raised will contribute to a free St. Patricks’s Day family event at Market Square on March 17th.

Not the only thing on the menu

Along with furthering your Whiskey education, table magic will be performed by the mystifying Jordan Blaikie, as well as live music by Cookeilidh Celtic Band and Knackers Yard.

There will also be prizes offered to the best costume, so make sure you bring your best green Irish attire.

What is a “hooley”?

A hooley is an Irish party and, as you might expect with most parties, it usually has music.

In Irish or Gaelic, the words for whiskey is “uisce beatha”, or translated literally, “water of life” – so rest assured that they take their alcohol seriously.

Slainte!
