Johnson Street bridge crew take a well deserved break to play hockey (PHOTOS)

How do you know we’re in Canada?

We make sure our bridges are structurally sound by inaugurating them with a game of hockey!

That’s exactly what the crew working on the Johnson Street Bridge decided to do, while taking a well-deserved break yesterday.

They’ve been tirelessly working to make sure the bridge is ready in time for its grand opening today.

This afternoon marks the first day that people will be able to cross the bridge, and the City of Victoria is throwing a Hello New, Goodbye Blue party to commemorate it. There’ll be food, music, entertainment, craft stations for your kids, and more!

Can’t make it down there? No worries!
