Share

A funeral and procession for VicPD officer Const. Ian Jordan has been scheduled to occur on Thursday, April 19th.

35-year-old Jordan was involved in a motor vehicle accident in 1987 which left him in a coma for over 30 years. He passed away last week, on April 12th.

To honour his memory, a marching contingent of officers from across Canada and the United States will leave from the Save On Foods Memorial Arena at 12:30 PM.

They will advance east down Caledonia Ave and then south on Quadra Street. Traffic will be affected on these roads for about 45 minutes, so expect delays and rerouting.

The marchers will then meet the full departmental funeral party at Christ Church Cathedral (930 Burdett Ave) for the service.

Members of the public who would like to pay their respects are asked to line the route along Quadra Street.

Temporary cameras will be used throughout the procession and funeral tomorrow, in order to ensure public safety.
