The Victoria HarbourCats will honour the Humboldt Broncos to start the season by wearing Broncos hats on opening night.

After a team bus crash killed 16 members of a junior hockey team in Saskatchewan, support has poured in from nearly every community in Canada.

The HarbourCats raised $2,424 in donations this past week, including sales and donations. They will continue the effort by selling stickers in two sizes for a suggested $5-$10.

The hats worn for opening night will also be used for a fundraising effort in the future.

“It was a tough week for people across Canada, and we’re glad to do our part to help, even if in some small way,” said Jim Swanson, Managing Partner of the HarbourCats.

HarbourCats add third base group party deck

The Victoria HarbourCats have continued to add to the fan experience at Wilson’s Stadium at Royal Athletic Park with the addition of a third base group deck to the stadium.

The Strathcona Hotel-Rooftop Party Deck is a seatless baseball experience, designed to be a large area for socializing, mingling, and taking in some ball. The deck can hold 50-100 people and is located just beyond third base, offering fans a unique vantage point of the game.

With the recent inclusion of The Upper Deck Experience, which features an open top Gray Line Tours Double Decker Bus along the first base line, fans now have two unique options to spice up their HarbourCats baseball experience.

The home opener is set for June 1st.
