On Saturday, April 21st, Westshore RCMP responded to reports of a two vehicle collision at Metchosin Rd and Happy Valley Rd at 10:15 PM.
A truck allegedly failed to stop at a Stop sign and hit the second car’s rear bumper, before coming to a rest on debris which caught fire.
By the time emergency crews arrived on site, the truck was fully engulfed in flames and the driver was spotted fleeing from the scene.
Thankfully no injuries were reported to the police, and the vehicle that was struck has some minor damage to its rear bumper.
The investigation into this incident is currently ongoing, and authorities have not yet spoken with the driver of the truck.
