*Screeeeeech*
This morning, several Victorians started their day off with a bit of a shock when they were greeted by a velociraptor parading the streets of downtown.
Her spine-chilling shriek turned more than a few heads as she crossed the street (after looking both ways, of course) on her way to the Bay Centre, where she gracefully rode the escalator up to the angel wing photo wall to get her close up.
Velma was first spotted on the grounds of the BC Legislature last week and has been growing in popularity ever since.
Who, what, and why
When Robin Farrell and AJ Cruz of Ocean 98.5 saw the story about a dinosaur roaming the streets of Victoria, they just had to meet her and find out who she’s preying on.
Turns out, Velma is the brain- and muscle-child of twin brothers Ben and Josh who created the company Raptor4Rent to introduce her to the world.
This 14-foot carnivore is a part-dino, part-human gentle giant who can emit a variety of terrifying sounds, but really just wants to party.
So the crew at Ocean 98.5 decided to take her out for the day and show her off to the early morning crowd in downtown Victoria.
As the saying goes, the early bird catches the velociraptor!
