VicPD officer injured by suspect during arrest

Share

On Monday afternoon at about 2 PM, two Victoria Police Patrol officers responded to reports of an altercation at a business on Douglas Street.

When they arrived at the location in the 1200-block of Douglas Street, the alleged instigator of the fight had fled the scene.

The two officers were able to track him down, but the suspect began to resist arrest and fight them both. Another police officer arrived on site to provide backup, which is when the arrest was completed.

During this struggle, one of the officers and the suspect suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and both of them were transported to the hospital. The incident is still under investigation.
