Caribou, Conservation and You

What: Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative (Y2Y) is leading a large-landscape initiative that is working to connect and protect important landscapes right here in British Columbia that are essential for iconic species like caribou.
You are invited to mingle over drinks and appetizers, followed by a presentation on the work of Y2Y and a screening of ‘Last Stand: Vanishing Caribou Rainforest‘ as it takes us on a cinematic journey into the threatened world of endangered mountain caribou, whose home is the world’s largest remaining inland temperate rainforest.

Indigenous Men’s Panel Discussion

What: Please join Lindsay Delaronde, Mike Alexander, Gerald Taiaiake Alfred, Mick Scow and Glenn Patterson for a panel discussion.
This panel will be led by four Indigenous men both community members in leaders. The discussion is an opportunity for men to share their knowledge about Indigenous Masculinities. Their own personal identity as well as their experience witnessing Indigenous men in community.

BATTLE OF THE DAD BANDS

What: Dust off your vintage rock tee, grab your friends, and join us for an epic evening at Capital Ballroom!
Be sure to bring your voice and make some noise for your favorite band, as they battle it out on stage and cover legendary hits!
Doors open at 6:30pm, but don’t miss the kickoff at 7pm – Ed Bain, from The Q, will take the stage and put his spin on things, and introduce the bands.

Sidney Street Market

What: The Sidney Street Market is Vancouver Island’s largest outdoor market featuring 130 vendors and attracting between 3,000 and 5,000 people each night. Every Thursday night from 5:30 to 8:30 during May to August, the Town’s main street is transformed into a spectacular, festival offering everything from locally grown produce, home-baked goods, artisan jewelry, crafts, gifts, mouthwatering food and live music.

Esquimalt Farmers Market

What: Find local fresh produce, a variety of food products, beverages, local artisans, and live music. Enjoy dinner from a food truck and join in on this fun community gathering!
The award-winning Esquimalt Farmer’s Market supports local growers and producers who engage in environmentally sound farming practices, and encourages backyard farmers to help nourish their community with quality products.
