Just a few days after an aluminum dragon sculpture mysteriously disappeared from its perch, statue thieves are now making their way south.

Nanaimo RCMP are looking for suspects after a 300-pound Chinese Terracotta statue was removed from the yard of a home on the 7000 block of McGill Road in Lantzville.

The robbery occurred sometime overnight on Tuesday, June 26. The statue is made of solid concrete, and is approximately 40 inches tall and stained to look dark bronze.

Police say there was a wooden sign hanging off the neck of the statue that read “spoiled rotten cats live here” at the time of the robbery.

If you have any information on the location of this statue, please call the Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at www.nanaimocrimestoppers.com.
