The Canadian Senior Men’s National basketball team defeated their Chinese counterparts on Sunday during a riveting game played at Victoria’s Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

The second game of the Pacific Rim Basketball Classic ended with a score of 108-72 to Canada, in which R.J. Barrett finished with 21 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists for Team Canada, earning him the title of ‘Sixofour Life Player of the Game’.

This is also Canada’s second win against the Chinese team, after their first victory in Vancouver on Friday which ended with a score of 97-62.

“I liked our defensive intensity. I think we have to be a little bit better with our communication on defence,” Jay Triano, Head Coach, told The Canadian Press.

“As the game went on today, I thought we let them kind of get some open looks that we usually do a pretty good job of taking away.”

After the two-game exhibition set in B.C., the Canadian team will look toward their 2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifying campaign, where they play Dominican Republic on June 29th and U.S. Virgin Islands on July 2.
