Elderly cat with duct-taped paws tossed out of car in Langford

The BC SPCA is looking for witnesses to help identify two men who were spotted dumping a geriatric injured cat out of a car window in Langford late Tuesday morning.

A woman walking along the 3000-block of Pickford Road around 11:30 a.m. saw two men in a grey sedan pull over, dump the cat out of the car window, and drive away.

BC SPCA senior animal protection officer Erika Paul says that the animal appeared to be dragging her hind legs. Upon closer inspection, the woman found duct tape wrapped around the cat’s legs and stomach.

A local veterinary clinic is determining the cause of the injury to the cat’s back legs and has treated her for a large abscess on her side.

Anyone with information who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call the BC SPCA animal cruelty hotline at 1-855-622-7722.
