Six Mile Road is closed to vehicle traffic after a truck collided with the overpass at Atkins Road on Wednesday afternoon.
The Galloping Goose bridge has been reopened to cyclists and pedestrians after being temporarily closed.
Drivers are being asked to use alternate routes and avoid the area if possible.
The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. Witnesses reported a truck trailer being split in half, breaking a fuel tank in the process.

The Town of View Royal said the road should be open again by 4:30 p.m.
Cleanup crews are on the scene.
