Jollibee, a renowned Filipino fast food chain, is coming to Western Canada.
In an interview with CityNews, CEO of Jollibee, Ernesto Tanmantiong, announced plans for the popular chain to open 100 locations across Canada in the next five years.
Tanmantiong says this will happen with the “continued support of the people of Canada.”

Jollibee began as a two-branch ice cream parlor offering ice cream as well as hot meals and sandwiches in 1975. Three years later, it brought burgers into the mix, and revolutionized fast food in the Philippines.
Now, the chain has over 1,000 stores worldwide, including countries like Brunei, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and the U.S.
Jollibee opened its first Canadian location in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in December 2016, followed by one more in Winnipeg and two more in Ontario.
Jollibee’s menu includes crispy fried chicken, Jolly Spaghetti, the Palabok Fiesta, and their popular Yum burgers.
There’s no word so far if the restaurant’s expansion plans will include Victoria, but we’ve reached out to the chain for confirmation. We’ll let you know when they respond!
