A small 1.9-magnitude earthquake was detected on southern Vancouver Island Thursday afternoon.
According to Earthquake Tracker, the seismic event occurred at 3:38 pm at a depth of 24.1 kilometres.
The tremor’s epicentre was recorded about eleven kilometres South-Southwest off the coast of Victoria.
A few people have reported feeling tremors in the Metchosin/Colwood/Triangle Mountain area.
No damage has been reported, and no tsunami warnings were issued.
