$10-thousand worth of equipment stolen from Sooke Fire Department

Sooke RCMP are investigating after equipment used to fight wildfires was stolen out of a Sooke Fire trailer last week, the department says.

The equipment, totalling more than $10,000, was stolen out of a trailer last week in the main parking lot of the fire hall on Otter Point Road.

Majority of the items taken are used to fight wildfires. Stolen items include a wick pump, valves sprinklers and other equipment mostly unique to firefighting.

The investigation is continuing.

RCMP are asking anyone with information to call them at 250-642-5241 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
