Victoria police seeking witnesses after sexual assault in Esquimalt

Victoria police are looking for witnesses after a sexual assault that occurred in Highrock Park in Esquimalt on Friday night.

Officers were called after a teen reported that she was walking through Memorial Park towards Highrock at around 6 p.m. and noticed a man behind her.

The man approached the teen and started a conversation about fitness before suddenly grabbing her and sexually assaulting her.

The teen was able to escape, but was chased and grabbed by the man again, who sexually assaulted her a second time. She was then able to free herself again and fled the scene.

The man reportedly exposed himself during the second struggle.

The suspect is described as a tanned or Aboriginal man in his thirties, standing 5’7″ with a muscular build, and short brown hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt on his head, a bright red T-shirt with a white logo on the front, and black athletic pants, and had a black backpack.
