Female employees at Victoria businesses targeted by sexually explicit phone calls

Share

Victoria Police are telling female staff at businesses to stay alert, after reports of recurring sexually explicit phone calls have surfaced.

There have been a total of nine reports of similar inappropriate, unwanted anonymous phone calls targeted at female employees at Victoria businesses over the past six months.

Investigators believe that the same male individual is the perpetrator in all of the cases, and are asking people to be vigilant when receiving anonymous calls.

Here’s what to do if you get a phone call that matches this description:

  • Write down the time and date of the call
  • Make notes of exactly what was said by the caller (specific words or phrases used) and anything identifying or unique about the voice, tone etc.
  • Report the call to VicPD by calling their non-emergency line at 250-995-7654.

If you know who is making these calls, contact VicPD at 250-995-7654 or report what you know anonymously, please call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
