Lake Cowichan RCMP have recovered the green Honda that belongs to missing 82-year-old Oak Bay woman Gladys Barman.

The vehicle was discovered on a remote logging road behind Lake Cowichan on Saturday, July 21st.

However there is still no sign of Barman, and search efforts continue to be underway.

The search continues

82-year-old Gladys Barman went missing over two weeks ago, and was last seen fuelling her 2002 dark green Honda Civic at the Petro-Canada on West Saanich Road at 10 a.m. on July 5.

Since then, search efforts have included Cowichan Search and Rescue activation, an aerial sweep via RCMP helicopter, RCMP Police Dog Services, and other assisting agencies.

“The search is ongoing and search efforts will continue for the foreseeable future,” reads a press release from Lake Cowichan RCMP.

Earlier this month, Cowichan Search & Rescue were deployed to search the area around Genoa Bay and Maple Bay following reports of an unconfirmed sighting.

Since her disappearance, her son, Neil Barman has taken to Facebook and Twitter to ask the public to keep their eyes open.
