Here are five things to do in and around Victoria today:
One of the biggest events in Canadian baseball steps up to the plate at Royal Athletic Park today with a series of games culminating in Victoria versus New Brunswick at 7 p.m. Then it’s right into playoffs Saturday afternoon/evening and all day Sunday. Batter up!

The annual free music event of the summer is drawing to a close once more, so head down to Centennial Square one last time for an awesome night of live music. This week features Diamond Cafe, Teenage Wedding, Hush Hush Noise, and Quarterback. Here’s to another great year!

Have a sewing project that you just haven’t had time to finish? Head over to the Makehouse, and meet other sewists in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Tea is included and guests are welcome to bring in snacks! Basic sewing machine skills are a must, as the format is not set up like a formal class or workshop. Bard & Banker has teamed up with Hoyne Brewing to bring you a special cask night in which they’ll unleash a brand new Dark Matter brew: The Dark Side of the Farm. This craft brew has been infused with blackberries handpicked at Seabluff Organic Farm in Metchosin—a winning combination! Keg taps at 5:00 p.m. and will go fast, so don’t be late!
