Yeah, we can't believe it either. (pexels.com)

If you’ve been waiting for that purrfect opportunity to adopt a cat, meow’s the time. The BC SPCA is offering 50 per cent off adoption fees for adult cats from now until Aug. 31!

The event includes all BC SPCA locations across the province except for those closed due to wildfire evacuations. 127 animals have been transferred out of our northern shelters to other SPCA locations, including 75 kittens and 34 cats.

“This means that many of our other shelters are at capacity and we’d love to find these wonderful cats a loving home as soon as possible,” says Lorie Chortyk, BC SPCA general manager of community relations.

“Our adult cats have so much love and personality to offer, having developed their temperaments at this point in their lives,” Chortyk says. “This makes it easier to match them up with a potential guardian.”

The event is sponsored by Hill’s Science Diet, which will provide new owners with a free bag of Hill’s Science Diet pet food for their pet.

If you’re interested, swing by your local SPCA branch or visit their website to find adoptable felines.
