Here’s how to find every single farmers’ market on Vancouver Island

Share

Yesterday we brought you an interactive map that shows you the location of every farm stand on Vancouver Island.

Today, we’re doing one better: a website showing the location of every farmers’ market!

The BC Farmers’ Market Trail was launched by the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets (BCAFM) to help residents easily locate markets selling freshly harvested fruits and vegetables, locally raised meat and eggs, artisanal cheese… anything you can think of, really.

“The BCAFM is thrilled to launch the BC Farmers’ Market Trail initiative this summer. It showcases the rich experience of farmers’ markets in our province and the phenomenal local farms and food throughout the regions,” said Wylie Bystedt, BCAFM president and Cariboo rancher.

“The Trail will make it easy for locals and visitors in B.C. to find the freshest, local, in-season food and will serve as the definitive to guide to 145 community farmers’ markets across B.C.”

To find a market in your area, simply go to the website and click the region you’re hoping to explore. Each region includes a full list of the farmers’ markets in that area, as well as their days of operation and hours.

There are currently 30 markets in the Vancouver Island & Gulf Islands region.

Summer’s not over yet, so if farm-fresh goods is what you’re after, hit the Trail!
