Mayfair Shopping Centre’s $72-million transformation is inching closer to fruition, as Sport Chek, Saje Natural Wellness, and a new Aritzia store open their doors to shoppers this week.
The new brands are part of Mayfair’s massive expansion that will also include new stores for Olsen Europe, Roots, MAC Cosmetics, Ann-Louise Jewellers, and Indigo.
“We are proud to have in-demand retailers like Aritzia, Sport Chek, and Saje Natural Wellness for shoppers on Vancouver Island,” said Mayfair general manager Laura Poland.
The revitalization of the 520,000 sq. ft. shopping centre will also include upgrades to the exterior property.
A new entrance ramp off Finlayson Street and two new levels of rooftop parking will allow easier access to 2,030 parking stalls. And a new urban streetscape with extensive landscaping and lay-by entrance from Douglas Street are just some of the new features meant to ease navigation.
“As we work towards our Fall 2018 completion date, I want to thank our customers for their patience and support during this exciting time and invite them to visit our new stores,” Poland said.
With Sport Chek opening at Mayfair, the older location near Staples has been closed. Its Hillside Shopping Centre and Bay Centre locations are still open.
