This Little Life: A Series of Short Films

  • What: Movie Monday presents seven short films exploring many different lives within a short time (83 minutes total). These films offer us exposure to diverse personal narratives and points of view seeking to generate tolerance and acceptance at a time when it is increasingly hostile to disagree.
  • When:  6:30 PM – 9 PM

Free Crohn’s Disease & Ulcerative Colitis Lecture Victoria

  • What: You’re invited to attend this free educational forum in Victoria, BC, presented by the GI Society, a registered charity. We welcome individuals with inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis) and their support circles, as well as health care professionals. A gastroenterologist will discuss the physical and emotional effects, nutritional needs, and treatment options. There will be time to ask questions. Admission is free, but please register in advance or 1-866-600-4875.

The SüLT Mine Comedy featuring Dale Ward

  • What: Great handmade pierogis, cold beer, and open mic comedy! Sign up for comics is at 730. Hosted by the resident fun-cousin Dan Duvall, this week’s hilarious feature is from Calgary closing out the show: Dale Ward! $5 at the door.
  • When: 7:30 PM

Egypt: The Time of Pharaohs

  • What: If learning about ancient pyramids, hieroglyphs, and mummies sounds like an awesome way to spend your summer, then walk like an Egyptian down to the Royal BC Museum. The exhibit gives visitors a glimpse into all aspects of ancient Egyptian life, from the emergence of ancient Egyptian civilization along the Nile to the Ptolemaic and Roman eras.

VicLUG Monday

  • What: Come out for drinks, snacks and LEGO-talk with the members of the Victoria LEGO Users Group. Nothing required except a love of LEGO bricks (and maybe ID to get in the pub.)
