6 photos of last night’s stunning harvest moon over Vancouver Island

Monday night offered up gorgeous, clear skies for stargazers to take in the majestic harvest moon that lit up Victoria.

The name “harvest moon” likely originates from northern-hemisphere farmers, who used the extra light to harvest more crops.

But for us city-dwellers here in the 21st century, the phenomenon just makes for some absolutely stunning photos.
