One person has been arrested following an early morning crash in Saanich Tuesday.
At about 3:30 a.m., the Saanich Police Department were called to a motor vehicle incident on Mayfair Drive near Richmond Road on Mount Tolmie.
Two vehicles were involved with one of the vehicles striking a hydro pole causing lines to
come down.
One passenger was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries by ambulance.
The driver of one of the vehicles was arrested at the scene and transported to Saanich Police headquarters where he was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle
and driving while over 0.08.
Mount Tolmie (Mayfair Road) will be closed while BC Hydro crews work to restore power to about 200 customers in the area.
Police are asking people to avoid the area if possible. Richmond Drive is open to traffic.
