School bus routes delayed or cancelled due to accidents on Sooke Rd

Share

Parents of children who go to school in Sooke are being advised of various school bus delays.

Buses are either not getting through or have been delayed due to two accidents on Sooke Rd that have prompted authorities to shut down the street until further notice.

An email from Sooke school district lets parents and guardians know that Saseenos, Sooke, Poirier, John Muir, Journey, and EMCS students will be affected by the following delays/cancellations:

  • Any buses heading east of the accident site are not running as the road is closed. Families/guardians should make arrangements for their child to be picked up.
  • Bus numbers 9, 24, and 34 are running with slight delays.
  • For those who live in Sooke and their child takes bus 5, 14, or 19, parents/guardians are asked to make arrangements to pick up/make arrangements to have the child picked up.
  • Port Renfrew route is running 40 minutes to 1 hour late.

Families in Westshore are also being advised that the road closure may impact bus routes going to the Westshore.
