Subway has just become the latest in a list of major food chains that is planning to get rid of plastic straws in Canada.

The sandwich chain has committed to eliminating plastic straws at all 3,200 Subway stores across the country in 2019.

The company joins Starbucks, A&W and 18 other major restaurant chains across Canada in the endeavour to reduce marine litter by getting rid of single use plastic products.
