

Update: The Malahat has reopened in both directions.

Highway 1 is closed in both directions near the Malahat Summit due to a small rock slide.
According to the West Shore RCMP, crews are on scene, assessing the environmental impact.
Geotechnical engineers are also on scene assessing the rock wall.
One vehicle was damaged due to the slide. The driver was uninjured.
There are no detours available or estimated time on when the highway will reopen.
