On Thursday night, a vehicle collided into a utility pole near Hillside Shopping Centre, causing a power outage for over 1,000 BC Hydro customers in the area.
The incident occurred on September 20th, at about 7:30 p.m., and the driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
Online reports state that Saanich police are searching for the driver of a dark SUV which allegedly crashed with the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road, and then left the scene.
Around 1,100 customers were left without power for about two hours, after a utility pole and hydro lines were knocked down by the crash.
