According to the US Geological Survey, a small earthquake was detected just off the west coast of Vancouver Island Sunday evening.
At 5:24 p.m, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake was detected about 144 kms west of Tofino. Its depth was shallow at just 10 kms.
No damage has been reported or is expected.
This was the most noticeable earthquake following a cluster of quakes last week, including three seismic events that measured a magnitude greater than 6.0.
