Voting polls for the 2018 municipal elections closed at 8:00 p.m. today, and now, the results for Vancouver Island’s Colwood are in.
Out of the two competitors for mayor, Rob Martin and Carol Hamilton, Rob Martin emerged as the winner, and six councillors were elected out of the eleven candidates running for the positions.
The nearly 17,000 residents of Colwood will be represented by:

- Cynthia Day (incumbent) – 1,928
- Dean Jantzen – 2,646 votes
- Doug Kobayashi – 2,703 votes
- Gordie Logan (incumbent) – 1,775
- Stewart Parkinson – 1,767
The Colwood community is located West of Victoria, beside Langford.
According to the 2016 Canada census, the largest age bracket residing in the municipality is the 15-64-year-old group comprising 66.7% of the population.
An estimated 32% of eligible Colwood voters participated in the election.
