President of Campbell River biker gang charged with murder of Saanich man

On Friday, a joint police force arrested the President of the Devil’s Army Motorcycle Club, Richard ‘Ricky’ Alexander for the targeted first-degree murder of a Saanich man in 2016.

The victim, Dillon Brown, was a 30-year-old father of four and semi-pro MMA fighter. He was last seen on March 11th, 2016, and was found dead in his car near the Sayward bridge on March 12th, 2016.

Since the homicide, the joint efforts of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) and Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) as well as local RCMP have been non-stop.

In August 2017, the CFSEU-BC and VIIMCU executed a warrant and raided the Devils Army clubhouse as part of this homicide investigation.

According to a news release, the combined efforts of almost 200 police officers since 2016 has lead to enough evidence to charge the gang president.

“While a charge of First Degree Murder is significant in any circumstance, this charge is particularly significant as it involves a long-time high ranking member of an Outlaw Motorcycle Club”, said Trent Rolfe, Chief Superintendent of the CFSEU-BC.

The Devil’s Army is described as a “1%” outlaw motorcycle club, and has been based out of Campbell River since 2009.

Ricky Alexander, 63, is a founding member of the gang, owns the Devil’s Army clubhouse building, and is their current president. He is being held in custody until his next court appearance.
