2018 Festival of Lights – Light Up Night

Ladysmith’s 31st Light Up Festival takes place today. Thousands will flock to the little town of about 10,000 people to enjoy several hours of entertainment leading up to the big light up of Ladysmith by Santa at 6:30 p.m. – there will also be tons of fun afterwards at  Aggie Fields, including fireworks.

Christmas Market in Bastion Square

Local artisans and vendors will be in Bastion Square’s open air market offering their works for those looking for a local choice. Starting November 29 – December 2, December 6-9, and December 13-24 daily 11 am-6pm or later weather dependent.

  • When: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Where: Bastion Square Public Markets

The Breakwater Open Mic

The Breakwater Bistro will be reviving its Open Mic on the last Thursday of every month. The event will be hosts by Dylan Stone. Sing a tune or join in with another performer.

“We ask that the performer please support the venue by purchasing food or drinks to help maintain and grow this platform to share our music.”

Saanich Climate Plan Public Workshop No. 1

Help shape the updated Saanich Climate Plan! This free event includes an open house drop-in and interactive workshops on mitigation (reducing our climate impact) and adaptation (responding to a changing climate). You can register for the workshops in advance, and there may be drop-in spots available. Light refreshments will be provided.

Hospice Tree Light-Up & Open House

The 50-foot Garry oak tree next to Victoria Hospice will soon be shining brightly. For the second year, our annual Celebrate a Life event will feature a beautifully lit tree on the Hospice grounds.

You can hang a Celebrate A Life ornament at Victoria Hospice, speak with hospice volunteers, or just enjoy some hot chocolate and a tour of Victoria Hospice.
