Mura was diagnosed with terminal cancer in September.

So a month later, Heroux set out on a road trip with her, covering 24 states and over 13,600 km in 12 days to bring her to Vancouver Island.

He shared photos and stories about their incredible journey on Facebook, garnering the attention of several media companies around the world, and their story has since gone viral.

The dynamic duo got to meet and play with other Japanese wolf dogs in Victoria before heading back home.

Mura is wondering why we are now taking a ferry ride to Vancouver Island. She’ll soon find out!
