2 suspects caught on surveillance stealing a bike from Nanaimo university

Nanaimo RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects who stole a bicycle from Vancouver Island University in November.

At roughly 1:50 a.m. on November 29th, a male and a female suspect stole a yellow Peugot Mountain bike from VIU.

While the bicycle was secured, the thieves were undeterred as the male suspect used bolt cutters to remove the bike’s lock.

Police describe the male suspect as caucasian with a goatee and moustache. He is approximately 25 – 30 years old, and was carrying a purple umbrella and wearing a red hat at the time of the incident.

The female suspect is described as caucasian, and is approximately 30 years old. She has shoulder length blonde hair and was wearing tan coloured lace-up boots and a cream coloured button up sweater at the time of the theft.

The bike was also identified as having a flat tire.
