5 Victoria charities to donate your time and money to this holiday season

The holiday season is a time to celebrate and share the joy with everyone, whether it’s your friends and family members, or even complete strangers.

It’s also the perfect time to give back to the less fortunate who may be struggling this time of the year.

So we’ve listed five dedicated charities and non-profit organizations in Victoria that you can donate your time and money to this holiday season:

Mustard Seed Street Church & Food Bank

This organization is dedicated to providing food and essential items to the less fortunate in Victoria, and runs various services, including a food bank, family centres, hospitality programs, and recovery programs.

They are always looking for people to come and help out, whether in the form of item donations or as volunteers. If you’re looking to spread some much needed festive spirit, this organization is the perfect place for you.

Victoria Women’s Transition House

This particular organization mainly serves as a shelter offering support, education, and other services to women in Victoria who have experienced domestic abuse.  Donations of new/unused women’s items or toys as Christmas gifts for children living with the women in the shelter are appreciated.

Our Place Society

This community organization located in downtown Victoria provides a support system for vulnerable people through free meals, shelter, and other services. Our Place Society is always looking for people to come help in various ways.

Besides donating clothes and other necessary items (shoes, backpacks, toiletries, etc.), and volunteering, there are several options to give back, such as becoming a monthly donor, donating a needed vehicle, or sponsoring a warm breakfast. Come join this organization and brighten up someone’s day!

The Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island

Lifetime Network Victoria

This non-profit organization provides various services supporting people who live with disabilities in Victoria.
