Over 14,600 customers experiencing power outages on Vancouver Island

BC Hydro is currently reporting 38 power outages occurring across Vancouver Island.

Around 14,629 customers are without power as of 12:15 p.m. on Friday afternoon, after wind storms continue to rage on the island.

Several crews are already on site assessing and fixing the damage done to wires by trees or other loose objects. Some of the outages are still under investigation.
