These are Canadians’ top Google searches in 2018

Share

As a nation, we’re all most curious about a handful of specific topics – or so says Google.

According to the 2018 Google Trends report, Canadians collectively looked up a range of topics from cannabis to scalloped potatoes, bitcoin to “how old is Meghan Markle?”.

Among the top Canadian News items searched in the country were ‘Humboldt Broncos‘, ‘Canada Post Strike‘, and ‘Toronto Van attack‘.

When it came to consumer tech, the country favoured learning more about Fortnight, Bitcoin, and Red Dead Redemption 2 above all others.

And as far as learning about people (celebrities, basically), Canadians were most curious about Demi Lovato, Khloe Kardashian, Hailey Baldwin, and Canadian figure skating superstar Tessa Virtue.

It doesn’t end there – the country had some pretty hard-hitting questions to ask of the search engine too.

For example: Why is 6ix9ine going to jail? Why do Greeks break plates? Why do dogs eat poop? All inquiries we can get behind.
