West Shore RCMP recover stolen firearms from Colwood home

Last week, on December 3rd, West Shore RCMP officers executed a search warrant in Colwood and seized a variety of illegal items, including two stolen firearms.

Officers used the warrant to search a home in the 800 block of Cecil Blogg Drive as part of an identity fraud investigation, and found suspected stolen identification belonging to several different people inside, along with the two guns.

In a press release,police said the two stolen guns were a bolt action rifle and break action shotgun.

“Any time police can take a stolen firearm off the street is important for the safety and well being of our community.” said Cst. Matt Rowat of the West Shore crime reduction unit.

“The West Shore RCMP Crime Reduction Unit will continue to actively target those involved in drug and weapon offences.”

In addition to the stolen identification and firearms, officers found a quantity of unknown drug substances and drug paraphernalia.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
