Esquimalt liquor store suffers massive vandalism damage over the weekend

The Tudor House Liquor Store in Esquimalt is rebuilding parts of its front entrance after being the target of vandalism early Sunday morning.

Between 1:15 a.m. and 1:40 a.m., vandals shattered almost an entire wall of glass at the locally owned liquor store. According to the business’ social media account, the tool used to shatter the custom window panes has been discovered but cannot be disclosed as the investigation is still ongoing.

“It appears our shop was vandalized last night, causing great damage to our front entrance windows,” said Tudor House in a Facebook post on Sunday afternoon.

“We want to ensure the safety of our staff, customers and public before we open our doors… There is an investigation in course and if you have any information that can help us identify this person, please report it to the Victoria police or Victoria crime stoppers.”

While many panes of glass were destroyed, Tudor House says that nothing was harmed inside the store itself, and that nothing was stolen.

The liquor store has since reopened.

“Thank you guys for your support…still a lot of work ahead of us but we are open to the public again since all the damaged glass was removed and our staff is eager to work!” added Tudor House.
