McDonald’s is trying to make you cry with its new Spicy McChickens

Share

McDonald’s Canada has just dropped a new line of Spicy McChicken sandwiches, but only for a limited amount of time.

From January 29th until March 11th, you’ll be able to find three different variations of the new spicy burger.

The first, the jalapeno pepper Spicy McChicken, will be released on January 29th. Then two weeks after that, on February 12th the spice level will go up as the habanero pepper McChicken is unveiled.

So, if you’re a fan of spicy food, you’re in luck, because habanero peppers are roughly 4x as spicy jalapenos. But if you’re still not satisfied, don’t worry, the spice level will kick up another notch in late February.

On February 26th, McDonald’s will unroll their ghost pepper McChicken sandwiches, which are nearly 10x as spicy as a habanero.

Spice ratings of each pepper, according to the Scoville scale, measure at:

  • Jalapeno Pepper = 2500 – 8000 SHU
  • Habanero Pepper = 100,000 – 350,000 SHU
  • Ghost Pepper = Over 1,000,000 SHU
