The death of a woman, who was found by a passerby in Rutledge Park earlier this week, was not suspicious, say Saanich Police.
The woman, who has now been identified as a 60-year-old Saanich resident, was found on a bench in the park just before 8:30 am on January 28. Her name will not be released.
According to police, she didn’t live in the area, and why she was at the park at the time of her death is still being investigated.
The case has been handed over to the BC Coroners Service.
“The BC Coroners Service is now conducting its fact-finding investigation to determine how she died, where, when and by what means,” Saanich police said in a release.
The woman’s family have been notified of her death.
