Richmond RCMP take over West Shore missing persons case

Richmond RCMP have taken over a West Shore RCMP investigation after missing Langford man Lucas Matkowski was spotted in the Vancouver area last month.

Matkowski was initially reported missing by West Shore RCMP on December 11th, 2018, and was last seen by Victoria Police on December 3rd.

Richmond RCMP say that they have determined Matkowski was in the 7000 block of Westminster Hwy of Richmond on December 6th, 2018.

Footage from a business security camera in the area captured a glimpse of Matkowski last month.

The 34-year old is described as a Caucasian male standing 5’7″ tall and weighing roughly 200 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing dark pants, black shoes, glasses, a white dress shirt, and a dark jacket. He may also be wearing a toque.

“Friends, family, and the police are concerned about your well-being,” said Corporal Dennis Hwang of the Richmond RCMP

“Please contact us to let us know that you are safe.”

Anyone with information about Matkowski is asked to contact their local police.
