The incident occurred near the Millstream Village McDonalds in Langford on December 17th at about 9 p.m.

The surveillance footage was released as the West Shore RCMP continue to search for a suspect.

The 52-year-old victim called 911 after the suspect opened his vehicle door, grabbed him and threw him to the ground, before proceeding to drive away in the stolen vehicle, almost running its owner over in the process.

He was then transported to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries to his wrist, elbow, and hip.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, between 30-40 years old, standing 5’7″ tall and weighing 160 lbs. At the time of the carjacking, he was wearing a black jacket, white pants, beige boots, and a black toque.

The stolen vehicle was a white 2009 Nissan Versa with BC Licence plate FL541W and a “U85” parking pass in the rear window.

“Our serious crime investigators are canvassing the area to gather evidence as to the identity of the suspect,” said Cpl Chris Dovell of West Shore RCMP.

“We are asking the public to be on the look out for the stolen vehicle and to contact 911 right away if observed.”
