100 men will vote for a charity in Victoria and all will donate $100 each

For their first ever fundraising event, 100 Men Who Care Victoria is looking to raise some money for your favourite charity – and all it takes is $100 cheque!

Being held at Vancouver Island Brewery this Wednesday, February 20th, the event was created by a group of men with a mind to give to charity; it began as a group of 8 philanthropic guys with a vision to do more good in the world, and wanted to pass along their good fortune to others.

In August 2018, the local group was incorporated under the BC Societies Act and created as The 100 Men Who Care Foundation after the bunch of guys raised their hands and agreed to help at a monthly networking lunch.

100 Men Who Care comes together four times a year, takes 1 hour to vote for their local charity of choice, and then they all write a $100 cheque to throw in the pot.

Just $100 to your chosen charity does a world of good, but can you imagine what an impact 99 more $100 cheques could make? That could be a combined total of $10,000 if they get the desired number of men on board!

How it works is every member of the group nominates their favourite charity, then three names are drawn each event; the nominating members then stand up and give a simple 3-5 minute, from-the-heart presentation on their favoured charity. After the votes are tallied, the winning charity gets $100 from each of the members. The more men who participate, the bigger the charity pot is!

Doors for the event this upcoming Wednesday, February 20th open at 6p.m., with the draw and voting portions from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m at Vancouver Island Brewery.
