28-year-old man arrested after Central Saanich police seize plethora of drugs from residence

Central Saanich police have seized a large amount of illicit drugs along with $35,000 in cash and a vehicle from a residence in the 1500-block of Keating Cross Road.

A search warrant for the address was executed after police arrested a 28-year-old man, and are recommending a charge of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

In addition to $35,000 in cash and a 2015 Mercedes worth approximately $50,000, officers found cocaine, methamphetamine, MDMA (ecstasy), Xanax, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), oxycodone, morphine and LSD (acid) at the house.

According to a release from Central Saanich police, the drugs are worth a combined total of approximately $50,000.

“Our police service carried out a thorough investigation upon receiving information from the public on drug trafficking within our community”, said Deputy Chief Derren Lench.

“We share the concerns of the citizens we serve regarding the dangers of drugs being sold. Our service appreciates the assistance of several policing partners including the Sidney/North Saanich R.C.M.P., Victoria Police Department and the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team.”
