Welcome to our little snow globe of an island.
With 26.4 cm of snow falling on Victoria on over the past two days, and another 5-10 cm still to come, the city has been contending with hazardous roads but also beautiful moments of silent tranquility.
As snow days have been cancelling classes at schools across the island (and hopefully work), many residents have taken to social media to share their striking landscapes and happy portraits of playing in the snow.
For those who have been curled up inside, or want to see how the snow has transformed landscapes in different parts of the island — like in Sidney, Langford, Sooke, and more — here are 32 photos of Monday’s heavy snowfall.
