

The winners of BC’s annual competition that seeks out the province’s best employers have been announced, and 10 of them are based right here in Victoria!
This is the 14th year that the contest has been held by editors of ‘Canada’s Top 100 Employers’, and employers are evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Physical workplace
- Work and social atmosphere
- Health, financial and family benefits
- Vacation and time off
- Employee communications
- Performance management
- Training and skills development
- Community involvement
According to a press release, BC has one of the strongest job markets in the country, with an unemployment rate of 4.4%.
“Many of the nation’s best employers are found in British Columbia,” says Richard Yerema, Managing Editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project.
“This year’s list of winners reflects the province’s highly diversified economy and is the product of decades of public investment in education and creating highly livable and desirable urban centres. Employers in British Columbia compete on an international stage for the best and brightest talent from around the world.”
